What can I say? I’m an art teacher turned marketing coordinator turned stay at home mom of three , soon to be four, wonderful kids. I am the last person I ever imagined would start a home business, especially such a *girlie* business, until I had my third child, Lucy. Girls just have this way of making you a little clothing and accessory crazy. I wanted bows to match all her outfits, and ones that actually STAYED PUT. After much frustration, I decided I could just make them myself, and I did. Through the learning process I saw possibilities in the ribbon, and thus my first bug bow came to be, a rather sad looking butterfly. After many prototypes and burnt fingers, I worked out the kinks and Hip Clips was born.

I started selling on ebay in June of 2006 and launched my website the following August. I’m so lucky to have the opportunity to earn a little money (and support my ribbon habit) by doing something I enjoy. I want to give a special thanks to my family for being so supportive of something that is taking time away from them and Staci Brillhart of Quirky Bird for designing this gorgeous website and being such a wonderful friend over the last couple of years.
